1. *67% of the budget comes from the state (80/120), 5% comes from student tuition (34/120)and 28% comes from fees, grants, and gifts (6/120).
*Most of the budget comes from the state, then from fees, grants, and gifts, and the least comes from student tuition.
*A majority of the college's budget comes from funding from the state. A smaller amount comes from fees, grants, and gifts to the college. A very small amount of the budget actually comes from student tuition.
2.*The average prison term is 22 months. I just added all the months in prison for all the prisoners and divided by 7 (the amount of prisoners.
*The order of amount of prison term from smallest to largest is:
8 months, 12 months, 12 months, 12 months, 12 months, 14 months, and 84 months.
The median is 12 months.
*Normally, I would say that the average/mean is a more reliable source to find the accurate amount of prison time. However, we have a huge number in comparison to the others and seems to be out of place (84 months). Because this number is so large, it skews our average. Therefore, our median would be more reliable because it is much closer to more of the data, 12 months.
3. *California's state tax is 7.25%
*They would save about $18.85 in a year. (.0725 x 5 x 52)
*They would save about $75.40 in a year. (.0725 x 20 x 52)

1) Be more specific in your explanation. Say that two-thirds of the funding comes from the state, etc.
